Zerg Vs Protoss – Beating Colossus and Immortals
August 18th, 2010 by CarlA Zerg vs Protoss game can be very hard to win if you’re unaware of good counter strategies for Colossus and Immortals. A decent Protoss player will use either or both of these units to attack us so we must know how to handle them. This guide will teach you good counters for Colossus and Immortal.
Firstly, the Colossus: The colossus is good at destroying groups of small units such as Hydralisks, Roaches or Zerglings. As these are often the main attack units of a Zerg army we must use an other unit to destroy the Colossus. Which one? The Infestor! Because with the Infestor’s neural parasite ability, for a short while we can take control of the Colossus and turn it against the Protoss player. Additionally, as long as you watch out for Stalkers, it can be effective to use Corruptors to attack the Colossus.
And so, over to the Immortal. What should we use to take it down? Since, the Immortal is very good at destroying Ultralisks and Roaches, one answer is to use speed-upgraded Zerglings. Also Hydralisks can tackle the Immortal.
Most Protoss players will use either a Colossus or Immortal against the Zerg so be prepared to use above tactics to kill them easily. However, if the Protoss player makes both of these units then you should make Mutalisks and Corruptors and go all air.
Now, go win some battles!
